Ancient Thira

Founded in the 9th Century by Dorian colonists and named after Theras (the mythical ruler of the island), this classical city of Santorini is an antique city located on Mesa Vouno about 396 meters above sea level.

Today, Ancient Thira is open to the public (closed on Mondays) and can be reached on a winding road that starts at Kamari.
